It's official...

No Broadway shows for me while visiting New York City. I guess the brighter side is that there will be more time for shopping!

I'm so sorry! My family had tickets to Curtains for Friday night. I changed them to The Spelling Bee. There are a few shows that are still running. You should try one of them. Here is a great link: http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/11/11/broadway-lockout-survival-g

Good luck!

Hey Lincee!! I moved up to NYC a couple of years ago. I have a friend coming in from Texas for T-giving and we had Spring Awakening tickets. Bummer! But, I feel especially bad for you out-of-towners. I’m thinking we may end up at something at Lincoln Center instead – good opera/ballet/symphony in a beautiful setting. You might check into it. Or there are a couple of off-B’way shows you might look into – Altar Boyz is one a lot of people liked (I didn’t as much, but most seem to!) And “My First Time” which is basically all about sex, but I think you can handle it – I thought it was really funny! Hope all is well!!

Lincee,

Thanks for your great blogs. I am a NYer and wish you a happy visit. I hope you have a nice time with Straight Guy on the top of the Empire State Building -- how Hollywood!

Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels

What a shame! You were so fired up seeing a show too. Maybe next time sunshine.
