It's Not Easy Being Green

Just got back from seeing Wicked in LA. Might I say that Megan Hilty and Eden Espinosa are absolutely amazing. Run...do not walk to see this show.

It didn't even bother me that the old man next to me asked why the audience was cheering "the green girl" when she hadn't done anything. Or the fact that two of the tallest beings on the planet naturally sat in front of me. Or that the lady's thigh on my left was seeping into my chair space.

It was that good.

I got teary eyed (what?) during "Defying Gravity" and I can't get "Popular" out of my head. Absolutely loved Galinda (the guh is silent) and have deemed her my new favorite musical character.

Tomorrow I'm off to Bakersfield to visit some rigs. Now there's potential for a good blog entry!

Until then, how much do we love WICKED!?!?

Hey Lincee,
Love the new blog!
Just got "Wicked" and about to read...would love to see it but my lame city will probably never get the production.
I just finished reading "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" and highly recommend if you haven't read. (obviously, Cinderella)
Looking forward to the new bachelor and more importantly your comments after the show!!
Take care,
CJ

I LOVED Wicked - saw it in Dallas back in April. I sympathize with you about the thigh invading your space... I set next to an overweight man w/ a wheezing problem... I swear I thought he was about to die the whole time we were there!

Going through all your blogs (cuz I just realized this site was up and running)and I have to tell you that Wicked is my all-time, absolute, favorite play! I've seen it twice here in Houston....but I don't like Galinda at all! I LOVE Elphaba!!! It certainly puts a fantastic back-story to one of my favorite childhood stories....can't wait to see a production of "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister".....but I'll read it first!

haha, found this blog from the Bachelor one....and turns out I am currently listening to the soundtrack of Wicked! It was too coincidental not to leave a comment.

Thanks for the entertainment on Tuesdays! It makes The Bachelor last all week long :)

Hey! It's a fellow "Wicked" fan!
Ok, hi...I found your blog (how, I don't know) and saw that you like Wicked.
I have read the book and seen the show...twice. I saw it in Atl, Georgia summer before last, and in NYC this past summer. Oddly enough, it was the SAME company...Julia Murney was Elphie. Oh and I've also read "Son of a Witch" but I didn't like it as much...
wow I rambled...sorry about that...bad habit.
